Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and create a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods in adherence to standard recipes and quality standards.
  • Measure, mix, and bake ingredients to produce exceptional results, paying close attention to flavor, texture, and presentation.
  • Skillfully decorate pastries, cakes, and other desserts, ensuring aesthetic appeal and artistic presentation.
  • Utilize various techniques, such as icing, glazing, and garnishing, to enhance the visual appeal and taste of each creation.
  • Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients, ensuring they meet the resort s high standards and rotating stock as needed.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Rotate food in walking coolers and freezers to minimize waste and spoilage.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Serve food in culinary stations while interacting with guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Complete safety training and certifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills And Experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a culinary cook in a restaurant and/or banquet environment
  • Ability to read recipes, instructions and safety information in English.
  • Ability to obtain a food safety card.
  • Knowledge of advanced baking techniques in a high-volume pastry and restaurant setting.
  • Previous exposure to pastry preparation
  • Demonstrates creative ability.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with the culinary team and efficiently work in a collaborative kitchen environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Capable of performing role in a busy work environment
  • Capable of working scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, nights, holidays and rotating schedule
  • Proficient in reading safety procedures and operating guidelines/instructions in English
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and/or reach repeatedly.
  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and carry, pull, and push heavy objects and materials.
  • Able to be on feet and moving around for entire shift.
  • Manual dexterity of hand to use all kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to perform duties with varying temperature ranges.
  • Sense of smell
