Job Title & Reporting

The Assistant Director of People & Culture reports to the Director of People & Culture and assists with the operations of the People & Culture Division while providing HR support to hotel management. This includes benefits administration, employee relations, talent management and retention, training, workers’ compensation and legal matters related to hotel employees.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Occasional travel to other Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts may be required for training and development purposes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to supportive teamwork and open communication.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing enhancement of personal skills and performance.
  • Recognize personal accountability for actions and outcomes.
  • Understand the effect of behavior on guests, fellow employees and the Company’s reputation.
Essential Functions
  • Act as an objective third party in employee counseling, problem solving or conflict resolution and communicate any circumstances that may raise legal issues or liabilities for the hotel to the Director of People & Culture.
  • Identify, analyze and initiate appropriate actions to resolve any unsatisfactory pattern of employee turnover.
  • Assist with managing the financial aspects of the HR budget, including benefits, labor & salary reports and planning cost‑effective events within the HR budget guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits of insurance records, immigration and labor records, paid time off allowances.
  • Maintain employment files and other records personally and through delegation in the HRIS.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with colleagues and supervisors while maintaining the confidentiality of the People & Culture Department.
  • Administer and train employees on behalf of People & Culture including but not limited to Embark (on‑boarding orientation), benefits, core and culture standards.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of all employee experience programs including holiday parties, career fairs and general meetings.
  • Respond to and attend any related hearings for all employee relations hearings.
  • Ensure that cafeterias, employee entrances and locker rooms are clean and orderly.
  • Attend operational meetings where required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous HR experience is a must.
  • Previous experience as a Human Resources Manager or higher, preferably with a luxury brand resort.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Workday HRIS.
  • Understanding of payroll applications, audits and processes in ADP.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
