Position SummaryThe Software Sales Enterprise Account Director will own enterprise sales of the Exonaut® platform across the U.S. Department of Defense but focused currently at the US Army (Active and Reserve), US Marine Corp, and US Navy. This role is responsible for developing strategic accounts, navigating complex government buying cycles, and closing multi‑year software agreements that support training, readiness, and operational decision‑making at the highest levels of command.
This role is about closing Commercial‑Off‑The‑Shelf sales and is not about Business Development.
This role is ideal for a former senior military officer or defense professional who has transitioned into enterprise software sales and thrives in complex, long‑cycle DoD environments. You are credible with commanders, fluent in readiness and training constructs, and motivated by closing high‑impact deals that directly support national security.
Key Responsibilities- Sales & Account Ownership Own the full enterprise sales lifecycle for Exonaut® (a software product), from opportunity qualification through contract award.
- Solution Selling & Demonstrations Translate operational requirements, METs, and readiness challenges into compelling Exonaut® value propositions. Deliver tailored demonstrations aligned to DoD training, exercise, and readiness frameworks.
- Capture & Government Sales Execution Track opportunities across PPBE timelines and multi‑year acquisition programs. Support RFP responses, capture strategies, and proposal development (Shipley‑aligned).
- Internal Collaboration & Market Intelligence Partner with pre‑sales, delivery, and product teams to ensure solution alignment. Monitor defense readiness trends, emerging requirements, and competitive landscape. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Within the first 12–18 months, success in this role includes establishing a strong qualified pipeline across priority DoD accounts, closing Exonaut® required contracts, and positioning 4C as a trusted readiness partner within key commands.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in sales, or related field, with proven track record of success in generating revenue and closing deals.
- 10+ years of experience in the military.
- Strong understanding of software industry, with a deep expertise in software within military training and simulation environments.
- Established network within the military, defense, or related sector.
- Strong presentation, proposal, and negotiation skills with high‑level command audiences.
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance preferred.
- Former military experience as a senior training and readiness officer.
- Knowledge of readiness reporting systems, simulation support tools, or C5
ISR environments. - Experience selling SaaS/COTS platforms.
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Familiarity with Shipley capture, disciplines, and proposal management.
- Active security clearance (Secret or higher) is a plus.
