DPR Construction is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support our Self Perform Work (SPW) division within DPR. The SPW division directly hires and manages craft work forces to perform certain scopes of work, including Concrete, Drywall, Electrical, Interiors, Waterproofing, and more. This role will be the primary data analyst, supporting our SPW division. You will engage with stakeholders throughout our SPW group, including front‑line field supervisors, craft foreman, project managers, project executives, and corporate leadership.
Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will build relationships, identify pain points, create and drive data strategies, and deliver actionable insights. This role is part of the Data Analytics (DA) team and ensures DPR moves toward data‑driven decisions based on insights derived from integrated business processes, systems, and analytics.
- Collaborate with SPW business partners and other parts of the business to align DA efforts with business objectives.
- Create, maintain, and execute the data analytics roadmap for SPW in alignment with overall goals.
- Drive conversations with stakeholders to fully understand and document pain points, focusing on successful outcomes and actions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and understand their processes, tools, and goals.
- Apply knowledge of construction management and self‑perform work to guide development of data‑driven insights with SPW business leaders and front‑line managers.
- Be a proactive leader in developing and implementing solutions to current pain points.
- Work with stakeholders to align on business requirements, create and maintain dashboards and applications as required, and deliver actionable insights to improve processes.
- Track and monitor usage metrics to measure adoption and impact of analytics.
- Complete ad‑hoc analysis as required.
- Identify root causes of data integrity issues and troubleshoot them in the visualization tool.
- Create complex data models in visualization tools, perform transformations, query the data warehouse using SQL, clean data, and identify potential new datasets and integrations.
- Work with Technical Analysts to build requirements for DBT views and the data warehouse.
- Work with Data Engineering to develop and maintain the data catalog and documentation of queries, transformations, and refreshes.
- Implement data security and governance guidelines, maintain security for DFLs, review access requests, and create and maintain RLS in the visualization tool.
- Complete impact analysis on reports when changes are made upstream, identify influences, and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for data collaboration and integration, coordinate alignment across T&I groups, and identify AI/ML/Data Science opportunities.
- Prioritize requests and initiatives based on business impact and resourcing; participate in Integrated Workgroup meetings.
- Train end‑users on using, interpreting, and building reports; provide on‑the‑job training and develop Self Service Analytics tools; increase data literacy.
- Act as a subject matter expert for business data availability, quality, and technology; maintain understanding of pipeline architecture.
- Ensure source‑of‑truth systems are identified and operational.
- Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related, plus 3 years of experience in data application, or Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years.
- Experience with the construction industry and knowledge of industry trends, terminology, and typical processes.
- Experience with self‑perform teams and managing a craft workforce.
- Experience with construction project controls (Earned Value Management, productivity, schedule, cost).
- Passion for data and business intelligence principles to optimize outcomes.
- Proven track record translating business pain points into data requirements and solving complex problems.
- Proven analytical skills in data mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.
