Vibe Programmer / Creative Software Engineer (Security Clearance Eligibility Required)
We’re a small business Department of Defense/Department of War contractor that develops training systems for U.S. warfighters. We’re looking for a Vibe Programmer who builds fast, experiments fearlessly, and turns half‑formed ideas into working software before the coffee gets cold. This role emphasizes momentum, intuition, and iteration. You’ll prototype, ship, refactor, and repeat. You should be comfortable coding without a fully written spec, collaborating with AI tools, and trusting your instincts—while still knowing when it’s time to clean things up and make them solid.
Responsibilities- Rapidly prototype ideas and turn them into working code
- Use AI‑assisted tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development
- Iterate based on feedback, usage, and “does this feel right?”
- Build MVPs, internal tools, and experiments that may evolve into production systems
- Refactor and harden successful prototypes once they prove value
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers in short feedback loops
- This position does not require a specific degree; relevant skills and equivalent experience will be considered.
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency through real‑world examples of their work.
- Strong practical programming skills in at least one modern language (JavaScript/Type Script, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.)
- Comfort coding with minimal requirements or evolving goals.
- Experience (or strong interest) in AI‑assisted development workflows.
- Good instincts for product, UX, and developer experience.
- Willingness to break things, fix them, and improve them quickly through iterative experimentation.
- Ability to balance speed with responsibility (you know when “good enough” is enough—and when it isn’t).
- Will keep working day and night until the software works, ensuring we meet customer schedules.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Must possess multi‑tasking, organizational, and planning skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra‑team, and interdisciplinary communication.

- Git Hub Copilot (Agent mode) – autocomplete, context‑aware suggestions, multi‑file edits in editors like VS Code or Jet Brains
- Cursor – AI code editor that understands full projects and helps generate/refactor code
- Replit + Replit Agent – browser‑based IDE with AI agents that generate, test, and deploy code without setup
- Aider & Cline – AI tools integrated into terminals or editors for conversational coding
- Devin / Windsurf / MetaGPT – more autonomous AI software engineers (emerging categories)
