Wycliffe Associates is working on Bible translation projects for deaf and blind individuals worldwide, using SUN (Symbolic Universal Notation), a symbol-based writing system that provides immediate access to Scripture for the deaf and deaf-blind.

There are approximately 600,000 people worldwide who are both deaf and blind. Since the deaf-blind cannot use audio, a system was created to bring Scriptures to them using universally recognized pictures and symbols, resulting in SUN.

We are seeking native or bilingual Urdu speakers to translate an English training manual into Urdu. These manuals are for teachers of the deaf and blind in Urdu-speaking regions. Basic computer skills, fluency in English and Urdu, and familiarity with Word and Excel are required. The work can be done remotely, requiring about 10-12 hours per week, and will last until the manual is fully translated, which may take a few months.

This is a volunteer opportunity to help bring the Gospel to the blind and deaf through your language skills.
