Overview

We are seeking a driven, committed, and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with Property Insurance First Party experience, either Plaintiff or Defense, to join our collaborative team of legal professionals. We represent homeowners, residential and commercial property owners, associations and tenants with their property damage claims. As an associate, you will work closely with our other talented attorneys and staff, providing support throughout the journey of a case file.

This is not an entry level position. You will be expected to effectively defend and conduct depositions of clients, insurance adjusters and other key witnesses after a short onboarding period. Bilingual (Spanish or Vietnamese) preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, proofread, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, memoranda and correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with experts, clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
  • Track litigation deadlines, hearings, and case milestones, maintaining proactive communication with the legal team.
  • Models’ ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with our core values, ethics, and information protection policies
  • Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and other court appearances
  • Work closely and respectfully with firm staff
  • Negotiate settlements while maintaining a trial-ready approach.
  • Develop innovative legal strategies to maximize policyholder recoveries
  • Advanced skills in legal analysis, critical thinking, legal counseling, and problem solving; creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems; good legal and business judgment
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team (legal and project), to lead, follow, and collaborate
Qualifications
  • Team-oriented leader with an ability to mentor and guide staff
  • Law degree from a fully accredited law school
  • An active member in good standing with the Florida State Bar Association
  • Prior First Party Property litigation required - Defense or Plaintiff side
  • Prior experience in first party property as a legal clerk or staff for at least 1 year may be considered, but is not preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to effectively defend depositions of clients and other key witnesses within the second week of employment. Candidates should need only minimal shadowing opportunities for these type of depositions. Ability to conduct depositions of corporate representatives and others will be given preference.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that speak both English and Spanish with conversational fluency.
  • Ability to work in the Orlando office.

  • Proficient computer, writing and oral advocacy skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience, with at least one year of First Party Property experience.
