We are a high-performing criminal defense firm seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our Orlando-based team with regular travel to the Florida Keys. The Associate Attorney will handle a mix of misdemeanor and felony cases from intake through resolution, including negotiations, motions practice, and courtroom advocacy.

This position is Orlando-based but requires periodic appearances in Monroe County (Key West, Marathon, Plantation Key). All travel expenses are covered. - Manage a full caseload of misdemeanor and felony matters from initial appearance through final resolution, ensuring consistent progress without requiring micromanagement
- Conduct regular court appearances in Monroe County (Key West, Marathon, Plantation Key) and coordinate travel efficiently
- Handle all aspects of motion practice, including drafting, filing, and arguing substantive and procedural motions
- Prepare and conduct depositions, witness interviews, and evidence review with strong attention to detail
- Lead plea negotiations with prosecutors and advise clients on case strategy, risks, and outcomes with clarity and empathy
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, keeping them informed and supported throughout the legal process
- Review and analyze discovery promptly, flag key issues, and coordinate with the team for follow‑up investigative steps
- Work within established firm systems and help improve workflows that create a more self‑managed, efficient practice
- Collaborate with the firm owner on case strategy, trial preparation, and long‑term improvements in operations
- Participate in occasional marketing or community‑facing activities that enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation
- Uphold the firm’s values of dignity, respect, professionalism, and exceptional client service in every interaction
- Has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
- Candidates must have passed the bar exam
- Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Solid communication skills and problem‑solving skills required to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
Compensation: $150,000 per year
