DRMP is seeking a motivated Deputy Project Manager to help the growing Alternative Delivery Market Sector based in our Orlando office.

We are looking for a dynamic candidate who is knowledgeable in transportation design (roadway, drainage, traffic or structures) and willing to learn the ropes of project management, including assisting the project manager with team coordination, attending client meetings, scheduling, invoicing, and implementing project management best practices. They should also be willing to market, control and develop projects for the Florida Department of Transportation
, providing overall project management assistance for complex roadway capacity projects on limited access facilities in Florida
. This position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus
.
- Conduct engineering investigations and plan work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; perform routine calculations and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
- Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and designs for the project.
- Prepare and update schedules to advance the project.
- Collaborate with clients, sub-consultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements.
- Direct and mentor support staff.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Professional Registration, PE
, with 7–15+ years of field-related work experience. - Open Roads preferred.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Experience designing capacity projects for FDOT and/or tolling authorities such as CFX
, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise
, THEA
, etc. - Management duties include budgeting, scheduling, job tracking, client interaction, and staff management.
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to forge strong relationships with clients, professionals, and your team members.
- Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
