About the RoleJoin the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC – The Reliable One) as part of our Transformation division to lead corporate strategy development and planning. The position oversees a strategy team, manages day‑to‑day operations, and partners with senior leadership to advance OUC’s long‑term goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead corporate strategy development and strategy‑planning processes; collaborate with senior leadership to identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic initiatives.
- Oversee the strategic intelligence function, integrating data into actionable insights that influence organization‑wide decision making.
- Direct integrated resource planning for electric and water utilities, evaluating supply and demand options and emerging technologies.
- Manage grant initiatives: opportunity identification, strategic alignment, application management, and portfolio oversight.
- Lead the creation and execution of strategic roadmaps that outline programs and projects to achieve OUC’s goals.
- Assess potential strategic and joint investments with other utilities, municipalities, and partners.
- Identify and commercialize enabling technologies or services that support strategic planning.
- Prepare market analyses, competitive benchmarking, performance metrics, and business evaluations of new opportunities.
- Drive corporate business plan development and implementation for new and enhanced products and services.
- Facilitate strategic planning sessions with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
- Synthesize financial and operational data to recommend actions; define and track key metrics using balanced scorecard or similar frameworks.
- Communicate progress to senior leadership through reports, presentations, and meeting communications.
- Conduct post‑mortem evaluations to improve planning processes and provide process‑improvement recommendations.
- Model role‑elevating leadership behaviors, fostering teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
- Strategic planning, investment and financial analysis, business‑plan creation.
- Financial statement interpretation; feasibility studies for corporate initiatives.
- Understanding of utility operations, regulation, and external market forces.
- Data metrics development, trend analysis, risk assessment, and statistical application.
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency:
Excel (formulas, pivot tables), PowerPoint storyboarding, Teams collaboration. - Data visualization skills and experience with business‑plan development principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 7+ years leading corporate strategic planning at the organizational level; partnership with senior leaders on business plans, KPIs, and financial models.
- Minimum 3 years managing and developing high‑performing teams.
- Proven experience creating data metrics, analyzing trends, and conducting risk assessments.
- Expertise in investment and financial analysis, feasibility studies, integrated strategic planning, and economic modeling.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to coach, influence, and build relationships across an organization.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial and operational data into actionable insights and present to executive leadership.
- Expertise facilitating cross‑functional workshops, strategic planning sessions, and executive briefings.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and data‑visualization experience.
- Understanding of utility operations, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics (preferred).
- Competitive salary: $136,000 – $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
