Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution preferred; or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible accounting, finance, or budget experience, preferably within a school district or a governmental setting.
- Experience working in financial and/or position control processes, preferably in a school or governmental environment.
- Strong spreadsheet skills are required.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance and training to individuals and groups preferred.
Ability to interpret and enforce school board and administrative rules; analyze data and communicate information; formulate alternative solutions to problems. Knowledge of decentralized decision‑making and accountability for results. Advanced spreadsheet proficiency in Excel for data analysis.

- Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner representing OCPS positively.
- Model the routine, intentional, and effective use of technology in daily work.
- Support the Director, Office of Management and Budget in managing all operations and functions consistent with district goals.
- Provide support to the day‑to‑day budget management of Treasury and Capital operations consistent with district priorities and goals.
- Direct, oversee, and evaluate support staff to achieve expected goals.
- Develop FTE forecasts and evaluate recalculations against forecast.
- Participate in the development and conduction of training classes with work location administrators and other personnel related to school and departmental budgets.
- Prepare revenue estimates for various district operations.
- Evaluate the adopted budget through revenue and expenditure analyses and propose revisions based on subsequent analyses and decisions.
- Resolve budget issues related to district operations including schools, departments, revenue calculations, position control, and school choice.
- Manage, monitor, reconcile, and provide oversight of position control processes to ensure effective implementation and management of the annual budget.
- Manage grant requests via the electronic workflow system to ensure compliance with district grant budget and position control policies and procedures. Provide direction to Budget Specialists on grant department requests.
- Follow district policies and procedures related to HRMD guidelines and instructional initiatives.
- Follow district policies and procedures related to fixed assets.
- Develop leadership in subordinates.
- Keep up to date on current technology used by OCPS and attend training as required.
- Maintain timely and accurate information and be accountable for the quality of information maintained by those supervised.
- Continuously self‑develop and stay current on research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Non‑bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
