Sr Operations Specialist – Water Chief Operator
At Orange County Utilities, the Water Division is seeking a highly qualified Sr Operations Specialist to oversee plant operations and maintain a safe, reliable water supply for Orange County.
Responsibilities- Analyze and troubleshoot operational problems using data and lead process improvements.
- Coordinate, direct, and train operations staff to achieve efficient operations in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations to correct operating problems during normal work hours and after hours/on call.
- Protect the environment and public health through conscientious monitoring and attention to plant operations.
- Assist with budget recommendations, meet budget objectives, and approve minor budget expenditures.
- Exercise independent judgment under general supervision of a designated supervisor.
- High school graduation or equivalent and five (5) years of utilities related experience in water supply production, or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
- Valid Florida Driver's License and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- May be required to wear protective breathing equipment.
- Strong preference for applicants with utilities experience as a Licensed Operator and Florida Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operators License A or
B.

Pay Grade: 017 – From $29.06 to $37.76 per hour
