Essential Functions
  • Review operations to determine where improvements need to be made
  • Meet with associates on a regular basis to communicate expectations and scheduling
  • Assign work to subordinates in a manner that supports profitable and efficient operation and follow up on assigned tasks
  • Intervene in all facets of the office as necessary
  • Determine ways to advertise and generate leads on potential moves
  • Authorize invoices for payment and transmit invoices to corporate office
  • Make personnel decisions as necessary
  • Report significant issues to ownership and executive management team for further action

Required

Education and Experience
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Industry experience required
Tasks
  • Oversee general operations in all departments including sales, customer service, dispatch, warehouse, fleet management and compliance/safety
  • Manage and maintain mutually beneficial vendor relationships
  • Schedule and assign tasks to staff for profitable, efficient and professional operations
  • Implement strategies to control expenses and increase revenue opportunities
  • Make personnel decisions including hiring, recruitment, terminations, evaluations, and disciplinary reports
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor quality assurance measures in all departments
  • Handle safety, compliance, and DOT enforcement
  • Regularly review operational processes and procedures to ensure performance benchmarks are met and improvements identified
  • Meet with associates on a regular basis to communicate expectations and scheduling
  • Approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources ensuring efficient use
  • Additional tasks/duties required by executive management/ownership relevant to your position as General Operations Manager

  • Education and Training – Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects
