Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking an experienced Practice Leader - Water/Wastewater to lead and develop a high-performing technical team delivering innovative solutions across the water and wastewater sector. This is a senior role for a commercially aware professional who can combine strategic leadership with technical expertise, supporting the delivery of complex projects from early concept and design through to construction and operational handover.

You will set the direction for the practice, identify opportunities for growth and build strong relationships with clients, partners and industry stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include leading business development activities, preparing and reviewing proposals, managing project delivery standards and ensuring that work is completed safely, sustainably, on time and within budget. You will provide technical oversight across water treatment, wastewater treatment, networks, water resources and associated infrastructure, while promoting effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

The role will also involve mentoring and developing staff, supporting recruitment and resource planning, and contributing to continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing.

Applicants should have substantial experience in the water and wastewater industry, with a strong understanding of current technical, regulatory and environmental requirements. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is essential, alongside a proven record of leading technical teams and delivering major infrastructure projects. Professional registration or chartership is desirable. You will need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to influence at all levels.

A proactive, inclusive and pragmatic leadership style will be important, as will the ability to balance strategic priorities with detailed project and client requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future direction of a growing water and wastewater practice while making a meaningful contribution to resilient and sustainable infrastructure.
