Facilities Maintenance Technician – Oshkosh Aero Tech, LLC
Oshkosh Aero Tech is a leading provider of aviation ground support products, gate equipment and airport services to commercial airlines, airports, air‑freight carriers, ground handling and military customers. The role supports manufacturing by assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
YOUR IMPACT- Use hand tools to assemble automated material‑handling vehicles.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and bills of material to determine best methods.
- Self‑audit/inspect assembled work before final inspection using drawings and checklists.
- Perform simple to complex assembly of components to produce miscellaneous parts and equipment.
- Work on a team to achieve daily production goals in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Provide constructive problem‑solving input to the team under the supervision of the Assembly Team Lead.
- Use standard methods, procedures and documentation such as routings, work orders, verbal and written instructions, print sketches, charts, tables and other information.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
- High School Diploma.
- 3+ years of medium/heavy mechanical assembly experience.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, bills of material and electrical schematics.
- Experience using hand and power tools, including cutters, wire strippers and crimping tools.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Advanced knowledge of blueprints and layout work; use shop arithmetic including decimals and fractions.
- Judgment to perform and make decisions on setup, operations and processes within recognized or standard methods.
- Basic tools of trade are required.
- Attention to detail, quality and safety.
- Ability to stay focused and work with minimal supervision.
- Advanced knowledge of assembly in mechanical and electrical processes.
- Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
