We are seeking a detail‑driven Manufacturing Operator with deep hands‑on experience building electromechanical sub‑assemblies. The successful candidate will execute complex solder‑splicing, mechanical‑splicing, crimping, labeling, and contact‑insertion tasks while rigorously adhering to FOD‑free (PRM‑01) and quality standards (IPC/WHMA‑A‑620E). This role is critical to delivering defect‑free assemblies for high‑performance aerospace/defense systems.
Key Responsibilities- Solder & Mechanical Splices
- Strip, tin, and splice wires using approved solder sleeves and mechanical splices
- Verify splice orientation and length per wiring diagram
- Crimp Operations
- Perform strip‑and‑crimp using designated crimpers (e.g., RAYCHEM AD‑1377, PICO 400, AMP 91500‑1, ERGO
4001, Daniels) - Understand correct crimp dies and locators

- Shrink‑Sleeving & Heat‑shrink
- Apply specified shrink‑sleeve part without premature heat‑shrink unless instructed
- Labeling & Documentation
- Apply part number markers and wrap around labels on flat surfaces as well as round/circular cables
- Contact Insertion
- Insert contacts into military spec connectors and populate empty slots with spare contacts
- FOD Control
- Maintain a clean, debris‑free work area at all times; follow internal procedures for tool/part placement and disposal
- Quality & Inspection
- Perform in‑process crimp inspections, check your own work, and provide feedback to peers
- Verify all assemblies against wiring diagrams, part lists, and visual standards before release to downstream MFG/Test
- Continuous Improvement
- Provide feedback to HWQEs, MEs, and Manufacturing Engineers on process gaps, tooling wear, and potential defects
- At least 5 years of experience in high‑mix electromechanical assembly (solder, crimp, shrink‑sleeve)
- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620E, PRM‑01 FOD standards, and wire‑run‑list (WRL) documentation
- Ability to set up and operate crimpers, soldering stations, heat‑shrink guns, and label applicators
- Reading
Skills:
Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and bill‑of‑materials - Ability to lift 25 lb and perform fine‑motor tasks (≤ 2 mm clearance)
