• perform filter, pump, valve, and piping maintenance and repairs.
• recognize normal system/equipment operations, required action, and notification, and participate in preventative maintenance programs.
• handle basic tasks related to the maintenance of the saltwater and freshwater systems.
• conduct water chemistry testing and interpret results.
• maintain records of activities performed during shifts.
• assist with general maintenance of facility grounds and structures.
• comply with all departmental and corporate safety guidelines and procedures.
• practice safe work habits, including use of personal protective equipment.
• maintain high standards of work area cleanliness in life support systems and display areas.
• communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, vendors, and guests.
• perform other duties as assigned.

• minimum 18 years of age.
• high school diploma or equivalent.
• valid driver’s license.
• ability to obtain certified pool operator or aquatic facility operator certification.
• knowledge and experience in basic mechanics or prior experience as a filtration mechanic.
• at least 1 year of operational experience in an aquatic life support facility or other water treatment facility.
• knowledge of water analysis and ability to adjust water balance accordingly.
• understanding of the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of various types of pumps and related equipment.
• ability to assess scope of work, develop a list of materials, parts, and equipment.
• experienced in the use and care of basic hand tools and specialty tools.
• ability to interpret piping system layouts and perform pvc pipe installation.
• completion of all legal, company, and departmental training requirements.
• excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• ability to complete cpr training/certification.
• ability to stand for extended periods and lift, push, and pull up to 80 pounds.
• basic math skills.
• flexibility to work varying shifts, including opening, closing, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling a minimum of 50 lbs.
• extensive walking, standing, and climbing of heights during shift.
• capability to perform knee, bend, squat, and reach overhead tasks.
• work indoors and outdoors in varying weather, including extreme heat and cold.
• exposure to noise, vibrations, fumes, dust, odors, and temperature extremes.
• perform cleaning duties, including safe use of chemicals.
• comfortable working around chemicals and in/around water.
• flexibility regarding work location based on business needs.
