- Shared 24/7 accountability with the Nursing Operations Manager.
- Recruitment, selection, interviews, and evaluation of new team members.
- Coordinate corrective action, progressive discipline, career advancement with HR.
- Investigate event reports; provide feedback to management and team.
- Oversee scheduling to ensure adequate staff mix for each shift.
- Maintain patient flow to achieve expected outcomes.
- Conduct nurse leader rounds and reviews to identify variances from best practice and standards.
- Participate in process/quality improvement initiatives.
- Uphold customer experience standards; perform service recovery as needed.
- Interface with patients and families to provide instruction and promote participation in care.
- Lead staff meetings, Gemba board, or huddles; demonstrate ownership of unit outcomes.
- Perform direct patient‑care activities as required.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of staff information.
- Complete incident reports and follow up event reports.
- Adhere to attendance policies and comply with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Communicate ideas clearly in verbal and written form.
- Advocate for nursing staff concerns.
- Implement strategies that promote education, health, and safety.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrate collaborative, collegial relationship skills and conflict resolution.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to team members.
- Promote a safe working environment; support follow‑up for workplace‑violence occurrences.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or BSN with a graduate degree in business or health‑related field preferred.
- Current Florida RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional certifications may be required:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
Two (2) years as a Registered Nurse in an advanced care unit (ICU, ED).
