Responsibilities

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24‑hour emergency services and offers a full continuum of care—including inpatient treatment for children, adolescents, and adults; partial hospitalization; intensive outpatient; and ECT services for adults. Our treatment philosophy is based on a team approach that treats patients with dignity and respect while delivering high‑quality care.

Responsible for performing all aspects of Central Florida Behavioral Hospital’s intake and admission process, including efficient handling of inquiry calls, communication with referral sources, providing hospital and program information to individuals and agencies, making outside referrals when appropriate, assessing and triaging patients, recommending level of care to the physician, verifying insurance benefits, pre‑certifying care, completing all admission requirements, and documenting all information in Med Series 4.

• Requests clinical information on potential patients.
• Initiates verification of insurance coverage to determine viability for individuals seeking admission.
• Coordinates admissions with unit staff and physician.
• Follows EMTALA regulations and identifies high‑risk individuals presenting for emergency care.

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a registered nurse required; six (6) months psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Florida.
• Current CPR certification required (can be obtained upon hire).
• Knowledge of current nursing procedures.
• Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1:
  Monday‑Friday 8 AM‑5 PM;
  Week 2:
  Monday & Tuesday 9 AM‑5 PM.
