Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Job Description

A busy neurosurgery practice in Orlando is seeking a midlevel provider (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) for one of its neurosurgeons performing a mix of endovascular and general neurosurgical procedures. The provider will be primarily office-based with some days at the hospital helping endovascular procedure workflow or assisting in surgeries. There is some opportunity for occasional after hours or very rarely weekend bonus for assisting in surgeries.

The most common diagnoses treated include brain aneurysms, degenerative spine problems, and osteoporotic compression fractures.

Responsibilities Include:

· Independently evaluate patients with histories and physical exams with a focus on neurological examination

· Make diagnoses (or differential diagnoses) and implement workup and treatment strategies

· Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments

· Facilitate timely response to outpatient questions and concerns

· Develop a deep understanding of the medical management of osteoporosis and coordinate with primary care providers to optimize global kyphoplasty patient care

· Meeting with referring providers to market and maximize customer service

· Administering conscious sedation for office based kyphoplasty procedures

· Scrubbing to assist in neurosurgical procedures

· Performing wound evaluations and removing sutures / staples

· Learning lifelong for continuous growth as a practitioner
