Position Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Care — Orlando Health Imaging Centers, East Orlando

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Care, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality patient care in a dynamic outpatient setting. Patients typically receive treatment and return home the same day, or care is provided in a post‑acute transitional care environment. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth, efficient, and compassionate care delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Current RN license in the state of Florida
  • Experience in ambulatory care
    , outpatient services
    , or imaging centers preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient advocacy skills
  • Passion for delivering patient‑centered care in a collaborative team environment
Essential Functions
  • Apply specialized ambulatory care nursing knowledge to promote wellness, restore health, address situational health concerns, and support end‑of‑life care.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans using evidence‑based nursing practices.
  • Deliver age‑appropriate care, demonstrating understanding of growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Interpret patient data to identify age‑specific requirements and tailor care accordingly.
  • Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and document patient care with skill and consistency, including assessments, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in nursing procedures and the use of unit‑specific equipment.
  • Prioritize patient care using Evidence‑Based Practice Standards.
  • Identify and resolve problems effectively to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately based on patient needs and team members’ qualifications.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with healthcare team members regarding patient conditions and unit concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, compassionate environment for patients and their families.
  • Integrate patient and family education throughout the care process.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process enhancement activities.
  • Uphold legal standards, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies.
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws.
  • Adhere to all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
Education & Training
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the assigned unit/department
Licensure & Certification
  • Active RN license in the State of Florida or through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on the department:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required (Exceptions may be approved by AVP level or above)
