Unit Highlights

TWR is a 39-bed Medical Progressive Care Unit dedicated to providing excellent patient care and supporting the development and growth of our team members. We offer a wide range of specialized services to our medical population and are experts in diabetic teaching. Our collaborative approach helps lead us to delivering the best outcomes for our patients. 8

Nurses with different backgrounds and experiences represent our team, passionate about teaching and dedicated to providing the best possible care to our patients together.

Patient Care Model: RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Technicians /Nurse Technicians

Ratios: 4-5 Patients per RN/LPNs depending on patient acuity. LPNs function independently and partner with RN teammates when a task outside of their scope is required

The unit is truly blessed with a Leadership team, Charges Nurses, RNs, LPNs, and PCTs who are all dedicated to the success of everyone.

Complex Advancements

8 Tower is home to one of Advent Healths Dedicated Education Units (DEU) where we have the privilege of aiding new nurses to develop their skills and knowledge in their final semester of nursing school. DEU preceptors are partnered with nursing students and act as a consistent guide to them as they share their best care practices. 8

The role you'll contribute

The Licensed Practical Nurse gives direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a professional nurse and performs routine duties in caring for identified age specific groups (may include neonate to geriatric). Approaches patient care using the nursing process of planning, implementing and evaluating outcomes. Adheres to the Advent Health Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you'll bring to the team
  • Collaborates with RN and makes appropriate nursing decisions and interventions. Interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition. Recognizes and reports problems.
  • Supervises other healthcare team members in the clinical environment. Utilizes knowledge base to assist with orientation, training and education of new personnel.
  • Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washing according to policy and enforces safety regulations. Strictly adheres to all infection control practices
  • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Adheres to all policies and procedures
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed

Minimum qualifications :

  • Successful completion of state recognized LPN training
  • Successfully pass LPN Orientation Test
  • Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • BLS Certification

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the clinical setting related to area of specialty
  • Successful completion of state recognized 30 hour IV therapy course
