Job SummaryThe duties of a Family Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) mid-level provider include, but are not limited to, providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from infancy to geriatric; proper maintenance of records, under the direction of the Supervisory Physician and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.

- Provide float coverage across True Health locations, programs, and services as assigned based on organizational, staffing, and patient-care needs.
- Assist with and provide clinical coverage for the Mobile Unit, Samaritan program/services, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, pre-employment physicals, and Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals
, as assigned and within the Provider's qualifications, certifications, privileges, and scope of practice. - Maintain flexibility to travel between and provide coverage at True Health locations and community-based service sites as assigned.
- Examine patients and record history.
- Adhere to proper charting protocols.
- Discuss with physicians and other healthcare professionals to prepare comprehensive plans of care.
- Order or execute tests or diagnostic imaging as needed.
- Submit healthcare plans and goals of individual patients for periodic review by the Physician, as applicable.
- Analyze results of tests, diagnose, and report findings to patients.
- Administer or prescribe treatment and medications within the Provider's authorized scope of practice.
- Promote health by advising patients on diet, hygiene, wellness, and prevention of disease.
- Inoculate and vaccinate as required.
- Refer patients to specialists as required for the patient's well-being.
- Perform minor surgical procedures within the Provider's scope of practice and privileges.
- Report deaths and contagious diseases to appropriate governmental authorities as required.
- Report incidents to the Department of Risk and Compliance.
- Complete and report incidents through the intranet.
- Report incidents of violence and aggression to the Departments of Risk and Compliance and Human Resources.
- Report suspected child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking to the appropriate agencies and the Department of Risk and Compliance, in accordance with applicable reporting requirements.
- Participate and serve on a minimum of one clinical quality committee.
- Represent True Health in the community and at community events.
- Provide coverage for on-call responsibilities, as assigned.
- Participate in the Peer Review Process, as indicated.
- Precept and train students, including MD, DO, APRN, PA, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals, as assigned.
- Precept and train provider peers, as assigned.
- Respond to and participate in True Health emergencies, including Nurse Stats.

- Current National Board Certification
- Experience:
- Prior experience working in a Federally Qualified Heath Center (FQHC) or community health center strongly preferred.
- Experience providing care to underserved, uninsured, Medicaid, and Medicare populations.
- Knowledge of FQHC regulations, HRSA requirements, quality measures and value-based care initiatives.
