Job Description & How to Apply Below

Bring primary care, sexual health, and women's health to a diverse community as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner at a nonprofit clinic in downtown Orlando, FL. The practice pairs medical care with on-site social services and serves a wide mix of patients, including many younger adults and patients living with HIV. You'll split your week between three clinic sites, 2 in downtown Orlando and 1 in Titusville, where the patient population is mostly older adults.

After one to two weeks of training and shadowing, you'll practice independently with a dedicated medical assistant, an in-house lab, and a team of nurses, case managers, and physicians behind you.

What Makes This Role Different.
  • Mission-driven care: the practice offers medical and social services under one roof, and case managers and social workers help patients navigate insurance and treatment so you aren't solving non-clinical barriers alone.
  • Real variety in one role: chronic disease management, STI testing and treatment, HIV prevention, and women's health, across two distinct patient populations (adults 18 to 50 in Orlando and mostly older adults in Titusville).
  • A strong support team: you work with a medical assistant assigned to you for the day or the week, an in-house lab, and a registered nurse who assesses new patients before you see them.
  • HIV treatment is covered by a visiting HIV specialist who sees patients living with HIV each week, so you can focus on primary care, screening, and prevention.
  • A short ramp-up: one to two weeks of training and shadowing with experienced nurse practitioners and physicians, plus EMR training, then you're on your own.
  • A manageable pace: about 20 patients per eight-hour shift.
  • A mix of payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay, so the practice is open to patients regardless of coverage.
  • You work at no more than two sites, so your week has a set rhythm.
Key Responsibilities .
  • Provide primary care to adult patients at the practice's Orlando and Titusville clinics.
  • Manage chronic conditions, with a focus on diabetes and high blood pressure.
  • Provide STI screening, testing, and treatment, including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and hepatitis

    C.
  • Deliver HIV prevention care, including PrEP and PEP, and coordinate with the visiting HIV specialist for patients living with HIV.
  • Provide women's health services, including birth control counseling and prescribing and Pap tests.
  • See patients for follow-up after emergency room visits, routine follow-ups, and physicals.
  • See about 20 patients per eight-hour shift, working closely with your assigned medical assistant and the nursing team.
  • Coordinate with case managers and social workers to connect patients with the services they need.
  • Document accurate and on time in the practice's EMR, and adapt as the practice updates its workflows.
Qualifications.
  • Active Florida APRN license.
  • Board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
  • Based in or near Orlando or Kissimmee, and able to commute to both the Orlando and Titusville clinics.
  • Able to work on site five days a week.
  • Comfortable caring for patients from young adults through older adults.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a nurse practitioner.
  • Experience in sexual health, STI care, or HIV prevention and care.
  • Women's health experience, including contraception and Pap tests.
  • Active DEA registration (not required).
  • Comfort learning new workflows as the practice grows and changes.
Compensation and Benefits.
  • $110,000-$130,000 base salary per year, based on experience.
  • Full-time W-2 position.
  • 104 hours (13 days) of PTO per year (accrued 4 hours every two weeks), at least 8 paid holidays, and a paid personal day for your birthday.
  • Full benefits begin after a six-month introductory period.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Malpractice insurance covered by the practice.
  • Reimbursement for training, CME, and license fees.
