Job Summary Performs skilled chemical spraying work at the various parks within the City of Orlando. Responsible for evaluating spraying requirements for insect and disease control, selecting proper herbicides, and applying chemicals following approved techniques to effectively control undesirable vegetation and prevent damage to adjacent vegetation. Performs normal maintenance functions related to the overall preservation of park facilities and grounds. Work is performed under the supervision of a licensed crew leader or technical supervisor.
Work is evaluated through observation of the results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid CDL with Tanker Endorsement, Limited Florida State Pesticide Application License, and Florida Public Applicator's Restricted Pesticide License with Ornamental and Turf Endorsements required. Valid Florida Driver's License, additional license(s), and/or two (2) years of experience in turf and/or woody ornamental maintenance involving chemical application may be required, depending on the area of assignment.

Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
