An industry leader in renewable energy is seeking candidates to fill an immediate job opening for Supplier Quality Engineer. This role will perform supplier oversight and product inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. This opportunity is in Orlando, FL.
What you will do- Perform supplier oversight and product inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. Inspection types include visual, dimensional, weld, coating, traceability, quality records, and Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT). FAT examples include transformer routine & type tests, MCC production & type tests, etc.
- Conduct routine audits based on supplier risk categorization and audit program requirements (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001).
- Identify and initiate containment for non-conformances and follow up with corrective actions as needed.
- Support supplier evaluation through regular analysis of supplier quality. Implement improvement programs, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation measures.
- Generate periodic quality performance reports and ensure appropriate improvement actions are initiated.
- MCC, switch gear, switchboards, panel boards, UPS, transformers, static excitation systems, static frequency converters, batteries & charging systems, E-houses, cables, and bus ducting.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (equivalent education, training, and experience considered).
- 10+ years preferred professional experience in supplier quality management, quality management, or engineering related to MV and LV electrical systems and components. Position class may be adjusted based on experience and qualifications.
- Experience in supplier evaluation, qualification, product/process qualification, and technical supplier development to ensure a global, quality-assured, and cost-effective supply base.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards.
- Strong auditing background: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 35% of the time (passport required or ability to obtain one).
