Job Description: As a Sales Engineer, you will be the face of Nelson & Company to engineers, contractors, and owners, creating value and a great experience for our customers by ensuring we develop the right solution within the constraints they face. You’ll own your projects from start to finish, from building relationships and getting our equipment specified to handling your own selections, quotes, pricing, and submittals.

The role combines technical precision with the speed the business requires.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Building relationships with consulting engineers and mechanical contractors to get our equipment specified and win projects.
• Preparing and delivering technical presentations explaining products and services to customers and prospective customers.
• Assisting mechanical engineers and contractors with problems involving the use of equipment and services and recommending suitable resolutions according to their needs.
• Making equipment selections and developing quotes from project plans and specifications.
• Pricing HVAC equipment and parts accurately and in a timely manner.
• Preparing submittals and managing revisions through approval.
• Coordinating with vendors and internal team members to gather technical and pricing information.
• Managing multiple active quotes and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Staying current on product innovations, codes, and industry changes such as the refrigerant transition.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of successful experience in a Commercial/Applied HVAC Sales Engineering role
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines consistently
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of successful experience in Commercial HVAC equipment sales
• System start-up, troubleshooting, building management systems, and controls experience
• Established relationships with consulting engineers and mechanical contractors in North or Central Florida
