- Maintain order, discipline, and security within assigned areas in the absence of the shift Captain.
- Assists with the training of new officers and on-going training for current officers.
- Provides input to the Captain for Security Officers’ performance reviews.
- Communicates proper information regarding patient or non-patient needs to security team members.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Participates in continual review of Security Policies and Procedures and recommends improvement changes.
- Participates in monthly Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Indicator (QI) and related services.
- Works with patients, visitors, and staff to resolve problems.
- Ability to manage patients, visitors, and employees under extreme stress.
- Always provides the highest quality of customer service.
- Performs other related functions as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word for report writing purposes.
- Must obtain a State of Florida Class “D” Security Officer License within 120 days of hire and renew biannually.
- Must obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 120 days of hire and renew annually.
- Must obtain a Basic Security Officer Certification or higher level of certification within 120 days of hire and maintain during employment.
- Two (2) years security experience, to include one (1) year supervisory or leadership experience.
