Position Summary
As a Foreman Electrician at Boys Electrical, you will lead small crews or sections of larger projects, ensuring that all electrical tasks are completed efficiently and safely. This role requires a balance of leadership and hands-on electrical work, including the installation of electrical equipment, devices, and fixtures, pulling cable, excavation, trenching, and job site maintenance.
Your Essential Functions include:
Leadership and Supervision
- Lead and mentor field personnel, including Electricians, Mechanics, and Apprentices.
- Coordinate daily tasks, manage manpower, oversee material needs, delivery, inventory, and organization, ensuring project timelines and budget are achieved.
- Conduct regular meetings with your team and other trades to discuss project progress and resolve any issues.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
- Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications to accurately lay out electrical work.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with National Electrical Codes and company standards.
Quality Control and Documentation
- Monitor team productivity and provide performance evaluations, feedback, and mentorship.
- Ensure quality control on all projects by conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, changes, and any issues that arise.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all state, federal, and company safety standards, policies, and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits on-site and address any hazards immediately.
- Ensure that all team members follow safety protocols and receive necessary safety training.
Technical Proficiency
- Perform hands-on electrical tasks as needed, including underground work, rough-in, trim-out, and system installations.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards and best practices.
Communication and Reporting
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Report daily progress and any issues to the Project Manager.
- Ensure all team members are aware of project updates and changes.
To excel as a Foreman Electrician, you'll need a mix of core skills and experience that demonstrate strong leadership, technical proficiency, and a commitment to safety and quality:
Experience & Certifications
Proven experience in commercial electrical work, with at least five years in the field.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of National Electrical Codes and ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to electrical work, including hand tools, large pipe bending equipment, wire pulling machines, and earth-moving equipment.
