Position Overview

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting skills. This role involves working closely with sales, project teams, and clients to ensure proper design, installation, and commissioning of fire alarm systems. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and customer service are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales teams.
• Conduct field surveys and maintain daily logs.
• Program, commission, and obtain final acceptance for complex fire alarm systems.
• Prepare detailed reports in accordance with NFPA standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues effectively.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Program systems using laptops.
• Manage inventory and oversee vehicle supplies.
• Work under tight deadlines and provide guidance to technicians.
• Manage project scheduling and progress efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of quality and safety, including OSHA standards.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in fire detection and protection.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems and NFPA 72 codes.
• Ability to program and commission fire alarm systems using laptops.
• NICET Level I certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Florida fire procedures and filings.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
