Alarm Service Technician (NICET preferred)
Randall, a leading self‑performing subcontractor in Florida and the Southeast, is seeking qualified Fire Alarm, Security, and Access Control Service Technicians/Inspectors for commercial projects in the Orlando, FL area and throughout Central Florida. This position requires the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on alarm systems, work flexible hours—including weekends—and lift at least 50 pounds.
Position SummaryAlarm Service Technicians troubleshoot, repair, perform preventative maintenance, and occasionally install alarm systems. Inspection responsibilities include routine inspections, testing, and service on alarm product lines and competitor manufacturer lines.
Essential Functions- Work with low‑voltage wiring and devices for alarm, security, and access control equipment.
- Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule.
- Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via laptop.
- Make minor repairs and programming changes to inspected systems.
- Provide technical training to junior inspectors and trainees.
- Complete assignments on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass drug screen and reference check.
- Experience with hand tools and a multimeter.
- At least 2 years of documented service experience in fire alarm service/inspection.
- Strong troubleshooting aptitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Flexibility to work weekends and other required hours.
- Adherence to safety guidelines at all times.
- High customer‑service orientation.
- Team‑player attitude.
- Self‑starter capable of minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and quick learning ability.
Must be able to lift a dead weight of at least 50 pounds; stand, crouch, bend, and stretch for several hours; respond quickly to sounds; navigate uneven terrain or confined spaces; climb ladders while carrying tools; work in extreme weather; and properly wear personal protective gear.
