This position involves working with families who are court-ordered to participate in supervised visitation or monitored exchange programs through the Court’s Family Ties Visitation Center in Orange County. Observers are responsible for ensuring appropriate contact between families, closely observing interactions, and documenting these interactions. Additional duties include escorting children between the primary residential parent and visiting parent, as well as assisting with weekend operations of the visitation center.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, with a preference for candidates with two years of coursework toward a degree in education or human services, or equivalent experience in family or social services. Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact neutrally with diverse populations. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are preferred but not required.
The position pays $16.08/hour and is funded by Orange County. It offers no benefits or paid leave. This role is weekend-only, requiring availability on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and Sundays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The program is closed on holiday weekends.
