Responsibilities- Provide input and feedback to inform the direction of the gameplay feature roadmap.
- Design and implement complex gameplay, A.I., and animation systems.
- Lead small teams of developers for end‑to‑end delivery of new and iterative features.
- Incorporate and adapt existing engine libraries to the codebase.
- Prototype new ideas and mechanics to improve designs and feature quality.
- Design and document technical designs for Gameplay systems.
- Develop tools and workflows to produce new game features.
- Work with a proprietary engine to develop shareable, re‑usable code.
- Mentor and grow junior engineers on the gameplay team.
- 15+ years of experience leading and implementing complex sports gameplay simulations in C++ for AAA games.
- Experience implementing solutions that solve for the complexities that come with simulating real world character movement and locomotion in sports games.
- Experience implementing A.I. system architecture, character control, path finding, multiplayer, and animation systems.
- Strong understanding of multi-threaded architectures and synchronization principles.
- Excellent debugging experience using tools to help debug.
- Understanding of memory and performance implications of Gameplay systems & algorithms and experience optimizing for them.
- Familiar with scripting languages (Python, Lua, Ruby) and interpreted languages (C#, Java)
- Knowledge in a second field, such as physics or mathematics.
- Familiar with basic game development technologies such as Perforce, Visual Studio.
