Job Description
You will be a Software Engineer on our EOTS team at Lockheed Martin. The Electro‑Optical Targeting System (EOTS) is the world’s first sensor that combines forward‑looking infrared (FLIR) and infrared search and track (IRST) functionality.

What You Will Be DoingAs a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain embedded software applications and/or desktop applications.
- Require, design, code, test, and integrate software for an embedded multi‑core system as well as desktop computer applications for emulation of sensors and countermeasures.
- Possess training in C/C++, prior experience in GUI development, and experience with Linux OS.
As a Software Engineer at MFC, you will be part of a large network of software professionals implementing cutting‑edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will contribute to challenging defense projects across multiple domains, while benefiting from a matrix engineering organization that exposes you to numerous programs.
LocationThis position is onsite in Orlando, Florida. Flexible work schedules and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.
Security ClearanceThe selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company‑sponsored interim secret is required to start.
Basic Qualifications- BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related major.
- Experience with C++ and object‑oriented design.
- Experience with software development on Linux or a similar preemptive operating system.
- Ability to obtain an interim secret security clearance prior to start.
- Experience using software configuration management systems (e.g., Git, Git Hub, Git Lab, SVN).
- Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) design concepts.
- Familiarity with containerized development and deployment environments.
- Familiarity with Data Distribution Service (DDS).
- Familiarity with Yocto OS development.

Benefits & CompensationThe annual base salary for this position in most major metropolitan areas is $88,000–$152,490. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. This position is incentive plan eligible. Remote telework is available part‑time; the specific schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
