Lead Software Engineer; AI​/ML

Position: Lead Software Engineer (AI/ML)
Description Kforce's client in Orlando, FL that is seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and modern software engineering practices. This role will focus on designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications while leading end-to-end software development initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Generative AI technologies, scalable application development, and cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and deploy production-ready software solutions leveraging AI and Machine Learning technologies
* Lead the development of Generative AI applications and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions
* Build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines
* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Architect and implement cloud-native applications following modern software engineering best practices
* Develop and optimize machine learning models and AI workflows
* Establish and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes
* Mentor developers and provide technical leadership on software architecture and engineering standards
* Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative solutions Requirements
* Strong experience in Generative AI (GenAI), Machine Learning (ML), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
* Advanced proficiency in Python
* Experience building and deploying AI-enabled applications in production environments
* Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and distributed systems
* Experience developing APIs, microservices, and backend applications
* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* Experience with databases, data modeling, and data ingestion pipelines
* Experience implementing and managing CI/CD processes
* Experience working with Docker and containerized environments

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with Computer Vision solutions and frameworks
* Experience with Type Script
* Familiarity with OpenAI/GPT models and AI application development
* Experience with modern frontend technologies and full-stack development
* Exposure to MLOps and AI model deployment best practices
