Girls Head Wrestling Coach

Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School located in Southwest Ranches, Florida (Broward County) is looking to hire a qualified and experienced part time Girls Head Wrestling Coach for the  season. This candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the girls' wrestling program, including practices, competitions, academic progress, study hall, and team events.
• Develop and implement effective training plans and strategies to help female athletes improve their wrestling skills, physical fitness, and mental toughness.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to student-athletes to help them reach their full potential both on and off the mat.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that celebrates diversity, promotes confidence, and empowers young women to excel in the sport of wrestling.
• Collaborate with the head coach and other members of the coaching staff to ensure alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the wrestling program.

• Previous coaching experience in wrestling, with a focus on coaching female athletes, preferably at the high school level or above.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young female athletes.
• Dedication to promoting gender equality and providing opportunities for female athletes to thrive in the sport of wrestling.
• Ability to work collaboratively with athletes, parents, school staff, and community members.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Availability for hours which are primarily after school and on weekends during the wrestling season (typically November to February).
