This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a commercial vehicle in compliance with FCC regulations. Key duties include conducting pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, operating equipment manually or via joystick controls, and navigating assigned routes through residential and commercial areas. The position requires timely and professional interaction with co‑workers, dispatch, and customers; accurate completion of paperwork and adherence to safety and productivity standards to ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery.

• Complete a pre‑/post‑operation check of a commercial vehicle in line with FCC regulations to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components are in correct operating condition.
• Ensure commercial vehicles are safely operated on allocated routes that encompass roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
• Operate manually and/or automated controls and joystick equipment in compliance with the FCC's safety regulations and procedures.
• Engage courteously with co‑workers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure all services are performed in a timely and professional way.
• Continuously monitor the vehicle's status to ensure it remains operationally ready in order to reduce downtime.
• Complete necessary paperwork and other reports accurately.
• Maintain departmental productivity standards to ensure all clients are serviced in a timely and effective way.
• Follow and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.

• High School diploma or GED

• Garbage/Recycling experience preferred
• Valid CDL Class A or B
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary
• Must meet all qualifications as defined under Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). be registered with the FMCSA's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
