We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Transportation Dispatcher to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate drivers, manage schedules, and ensure efficient and timely transportation operations. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, and skilled at problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
This position is Monday to Friday from 4:00 am-12:30 pm
Key Responsibilities- Assign and coordinate drivers, routes, and daily schedules.
- Monitor vehicle locations, traffic, weather, and route progress to ensure on-time performance.
- Communicate with drivers throughout their shifts, providing updates and resolving issues.
- Respond quickly to unexpected delays, breakdowns, or incidents.
- Maintain accurate logs, dispatch notes, delivery records, and compliance documentation.
- Communicate with customer service regarding schedule changes, delivery status, and service inquiries.
- Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and company policies.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and communication.
- CDL A or CDL B preferred
- Previous experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, or fleet operations preferred.
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and written.
- Bilingual will be a plus
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with dispatching software, GPS systems, and basic computer applications (e.g., Omnitracs, Geotab, Samsara, Keep Truckin).
- Familiar with DOT regulations.
- Strong customer service skills and professionalism under pressure.
- Ability to sit and work at a dispatch station for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
