Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Overview

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) opportunity with Elite DNA Behavioral Health in Ormond Beach, FL. Full-time position.

• Diagnose and treat patients with psychiatric-mental health problems and those likely to develop them.
• Provide emergency psychiatric services, physical and psychosocial examinations.
• Work independently with medical team members and maintain clinical privileges approved by the Medical Executive Board.
• Participate in an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care to employees and patients.
• Conduct patient histories and physicals, assess risk factors, order therapeutic and diagnostic tests, and coordinate consultations and appointments.
• Prescribe medications following clinic policy and state regulations; consult with physicians on cases beyond PMHNP scope.
• Document all relevant patient data in medical records and prepare case presentations.
• Develop and deliver healthcare education to patients and families for disease prevention.
• Ensure effective communication with other health professionals to deliver high-quality clinic services.
• Provide consultation to nursing and medical staff to improve work performance and service quality.
• Communicate clearly in English with patients, families, clinic staff, and other healthcare professionals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
• Possess and maintain Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing in a state (unrestricted, current, active).
• Obtain Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the ANCC.
• Experience working with children and experience with Suboxone.
• Strong understanding of how societal factors impact mental health; problem-solving abilities and patient monitoring skills.
• Compassionate, sensitive, with strong reasoning and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in computer usage, including word processing, data entry, and medical software.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English to communicate with all stakeholders.
