Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher looking for a unique opportunity to create and lead a brand-new SEND provision from the ground up?
A forward-thinking primary school in Ormskirk is preparing to establish its first dedicated SEN class. Following a recent meeting with the school leadership, they are ready to bring on board a skilled, confident, and motivated SEN professional to guide, develop and deliver tailored support for pupils with additional needs.
This is a rare chance to make a meaningful impact and help shape the school’s long-term inclusion strategy.
You will:
- Lead the setup and development of a new SEN class or enhanced SEND provision
- Deliver personalised, high‑quality teaching to pupils with a range of additional needs
- Work closely with the SENCO and SLT to design structures, routines, and a curriculum model
- Carry out assessments and create individualised strategies and support plans
- Model best practice and support other staff with inclusive approaches
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals
This role requires someone confident, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education.
Applicants must have:
- QTS or PGCE (qualified teacher status is essential)
- Extensive SEN experience
, or relevant specialist qualifications such as:- Level 5/7 SEND qualifications
- NASEN training
- ASC/SEMH specialist certification
- Makaton, PECS, Team Teach (advantageous)
- Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, differentiation, and behaviour regulation
- The ability to confidently deliver high‑quality teaching for pupils with diverse needs
- A passion for leading on SEN development from scratch

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
