Position: Student Adviser (Careers)

At Blackpool and The Fylde College, we’re more than an education provider – we’re a driving force for opportunity, innovation and community growth. As one of the UK’s leading further education colleges and an exempt charity, we deliver high‑quality technical and professional education that transforms lives and supports regional prosperity. With over 12,500 students and around 1,000 colleagues, we’re proud to be an anchor institution driving social mobility, inclusion and success.

The Role

B &FC are looking for a part time Student Adviser to join our Student Services Team.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires the ability to work across all College campuses and engage confidently with a wide range of learners from Entry Level through to Level 6, including 16-18, Adult, HE students, apprentices and alumni. You will also provide IAG to vulnerable learners as part of the college’s inclusion strategy. You will be comfortable talking to students in a 1:1 setting, as well as presenting information to large groups of students, delivering engaging careers-related sessions and events that inspire learners to achieve their goals.

The role offers flexibility and variety, with occasional evening and weekend work to support College events and activities. As travel between campuses is a requirement of the role, access to a car would be advantageous.

We are committed to professional development and welcome applicants who are willing to work towards a Level 6 Career Development Professional Degree Apprenticeship, providing an excellent opportunity to develop a recognised professional qualification while making a positive impact on students' futures.

What We Offer
  • Generous annual leave, plus 5 additional gifted days (pro rata for part-time employees) to be taken during the Christmas closure period
  • An excellent pension scheme
  • Professional development and funded training opportunities
  • Flexible working options and family‑friendly policies
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support and staff recognition initiatives
Working with Us

At B &FC, you’ll join a values‑led community built on our CAREER principles – Community, Authenticity, Relentless Optimism, Everyone Included, Excellence, and Respect. We’re proud to empower both our colleagues and students to thrive, supported by outstanding facilities, forward‑thinking leadership, and a culture of inclusion and innovation. Whether you’re inspiring the next generation or advancing your own professional journey, B &FC is a place where you can truly make a difference.
