Overview
Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) are looking for a talented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our successful and ambitious finance team based in Bispham to support its continued financial stability and growth. This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week.
The Finance Operations team ensure prompt and accurate payments to students, employers and suppliers, timely invoicing and debt collection, in addition to other administrative duties within the Finance function. The team of six roles is split into two functions – Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Experience of working in a financial environment in either an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable function is desirable; however, full training will be provided. Applicants who are actively studying or have obtained an AAT professional qualification are welcome.
Reporting directly to the Finance Operations Leader, this role plays a key part in applying and developing effective financial controls to ensure accurate and timely payments, while supporting the wider Finance team and organisational objectives.
Responsibilities- Ensuring prompt, accurate processing and reconciliation of payments to students and suppliers, including resolving invoice and payment queries.
- Maintaining accurate financial records, supplier details, delegated authority documentation, and period-end journals within the Finance system.
- Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Providing flexible support across Finance projects, administrative tasks, and non-core activities when required.
