Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced HCPC registered Band 6 Podiatrist to join our Community Podiatry Team covering the West Lancashire patch on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality, person‑centred podiatric care across a range of community clinic locations and at patients’ homes, including nursing and residential facilities.
Responsibilities- Provide assessment, treatment and ongoing management for patients with acute and chronic podiatric needs.
- Plan, delegate and supervise workload, ensuring that the caseload is managed efficiently and that staff competence is considered.
- Undertake holistic assessments of patients and families, applying evidence‑based models of care.
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to keep patients in community settings and prevent unnecessary hospital admission.
- Advise patients, carers and colleagues on health promotion, lifestyle and podiatric care.
- Lead, mentor and support the team, including participation in clinical supervision and development of practice improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional registration and keep up to date with CPD and national guidelines.
- Act as an advocate for patients and contribute to policy and service development.
- HCPC registered Band 6 Podiatrist (post‑registration).
- Demonstrable post‑registration clinical experience, including wound management and care of complex conditions.
- Successful experience of working in multi‑agency settings.
- Evidence of CPD/short courses and awareness of current national and local health agendas.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Risk assessment abilities and IT literacy.
- Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to service enhancement.
- Accountability and ownership of care delivery.
- Respect for inclusive, supportive teamwork.
- Enthusiasm and passion for podiatric care.
- Supportive attitude with compassion and courage.
