Position Highlights- Provide post‑award support for the College of Veterinary Medicine’s research faculty.
- Delegate on grant accounts, approve transactions, reconcile accounts, and work closely with Principal Investigators and Sponsored Projects Services to manage awards.
- Support the college by processing reimbursements, purchasing, and general business services operations.
- Serve as the primary post‑award point of contact for the College, coordinating with pre‑award personnel and external departments to troubleshoot and resolve routine funded‑project issues.
- Develop and implement reports and tools to monitor college and sponsored accounts for budgeting, forecasting, and workflow improvements.
- Proactively pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and increase efficiency for the college.
- Collect and interpret financial information to develop projections and forecasts and aid College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) Principal Investigators with sponsored projects activities.
- Meet with CVM Principal Investigators regularly and prepare monthly financial reports and/or ad hoc projections to assist with the overall portfolio of research projects.
- Prepare and approve financial transactions for sponsored project and college accounts, including PCard approvals, purchase requisitions, disbursement vouchers, interdepartmental billing forms, expense reimbursements, salary expense transfers, funding distributions, and general error corrections as necessary to ensure accurate account and object code usage.
- Assist in the completion of annual and bi‑annual reports for external entities such as the CVM Self‑Study Report, under the direction of senior business office staff.
- Perform detailed accounting assignments as assigned.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively with different groups and individuals.
- Working knowledge and skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
- Ability to accurately manage detailed information while understanding overarching organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience.
- One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience with University systems such as UAccess Financials, Research, Employee, and Analytics.
- Experience working with sponsored grants and contracts.
Salary: $53,039 – $66,299 per year (full time, 40 hours per week). The rate represents a good faith estimate. Full benefits eligibility includes health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, tuition reduction for the employee and eligible family members, retirement plans, and access to recreation and cultural activities.
