Position: RN Main OR Full Time

Registered Nurse – Circulator, Main OR – Oro Valley Hospital

$10,000 sign‑on bonus offered to qualified eligible RNs.

Full‑time schedule: 40 hours weekly + on‑call duties.

Job Overview: This Registered Nurse (RN) will provide patient‑centered care before, during, and after surgery, working in a 6‑room acute‑care operating room equipped with da Vinci robotic joint replacement, minimally invasive general surgery, gastroenterology, and other services.

What You’ll Do: As a Circulator RN, you will coordinate high‑quality nursing care, support surgical teams, and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Summary: The RN delivers care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You ensure effective patient care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health‑care professionals while maintaining a supportive, compassionate environment for patients and families.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care per organizational policies, protocols, and the nursing process.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurately document findings, reporting changes to the care team.
  • Use knowledge of human growth and development to provide age‑appropriate care and education.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration per practice standards.
  • Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency.
  • Collaborate with the health‑care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on assessments and needs.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and participate in life‑saving interventions (CPR, code team activities) as appropriate.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning.
  • Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post‑discharge care.
  • Implement infection control protocols to prevent healthcare‑associated infections.
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment (IV pumps, monitors, ventilators) as needed for patient safety.
  • Promote patient safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
  • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate responsible decision‑making in planning, delegating, and providing care.
  • Document patient care and education thoroughly and promptly.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competency and current nursing standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, including data collection and process development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications:

  • 0–2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute‑care setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
  • Proficient in performing thorough patient assessments and communicating findings effectively.
  • Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Licenses &

Certifications:

  • RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure (required).
  • BCLS – Basic Life Support (required).
