Description
Job Summary: This position is responsible for keeping the facility locked, secured and supervised during school hours, through positive interaction with building occupants, monitoring entrances and exits, monitoring student and staff parking lots, supervising the lunchroom, and presenting a visual presence. An emphasis should be built on building positive relationships with students and supporting the District’s Mission:

Reports to: Orono High School Principal
Responsibilities- Build positive relationships with students.
- Ensure exterior doors are locked and secured
- Supervise lunchroom
- Walk through spaces assigned to ensure the safety of students and staff.
- Notify proper personnel including but not limited to 911, custodian, supervisor if needed.
- Communicate in a positive fashion with building occupants.
- Document and write reports of any incident that occurs that require intervention.
- Supervise parking lots, writing tickets and communicating with supervisors as needed.
- Ability to get along with district employees and be courteous and helpful with students and general public.
- Ability to make decisions on a variety of issues regarding building access and safety.
- Ability to observe and report safety hazards and maintenance repair needs.
- The ability to adapt to a continuously changing schedule is critical.
- Ability to confer with site administrators and supervisors regarding schedules and security concerns.
- Ability to communicate clearly on a radio.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 2-3 years of relevant experience required.
- Computer skills for operation of email and parking permit databases as needed
- Regular shifts = 8:15 AM-12:45 PM, M-F As Scheduled
- Additional Hours may be available based on event schedules.
Hourly Wage: $18.00 / hour
