Butte County Behavioral Health's Information Technology program is seeking a motivated and experienced IT professional who takes ownership of their work, leads with integrity, collaborates effectively, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service and practical technology solutions. This supervisory role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team while supporting a diverse range of technologies, systems, and services essential to the department's operations.

The IT Supervisor will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing technology services, infrastructure, projects, and day‑to‑day support. The successful candidate will have opportunities to apply their technical expertise, develop staff, improve processes, evaluate technology solutions, and work collaboratively with department and County partners to address challenges and advance strategic initiatives.

Under general direction, plans, supervises, organizes, coordinates, and reviews the work of staff responsible for the planning, design, configuration, and maintenance of information technology infrastructure, systems, and services; areas of responsibility include the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of technology infrastructure and systems such as hardware, software, telecommunications, and servers, and the design, maintenance, modification, customization of, and training on software applications;

implements information technology priorities, goals, and objectives; monitors and evaluates service delivery model and recommend changes; and performs related duties as assigned.

Receives general direction from assigned supervisory or management personnel. Exercises direct supervision over professional and technical staff.

This is a full supervisory-level class in the Information Technology series that exercises independent judgement on diverse and specialized information technology systems with accountability and ongoing decision‑making responsibilities associated with the work. Incumbents are responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of assigned staff and for organizing and overseeing day‑to‑day information technology support services within the assigned area and are responsible for providing professional level support to management in a variety of areas.

Performance of the work requires the use of independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines.
