About the position:
As Adult Day Program Instructor, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by leading structured activities, teaching life skills, and promoting independence in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
This is a full-time position based in Oroville, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Pay ranges from $17.00–$18.30 per hour, depending on experience.
The role is hands‑on and focused on direct support, skill-building, and meaningful engagement in both center-based and community-based settings. You will work closely with participants of varying abilities, ensuring services are person-centered, respectful, and aligned with each individual’s goals and preferences.
Program Activities & Engagement- Lead and facilitate daily activities including arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, cooking, and educational activities
- Plan and support community outings and recreational activities
- Encourage participation, engagement, and social interaction among clients
- Teach and reinforce daily living skills such as self-care, hygiene, money management, communication, and problem-solving
- Support individuals in building independence and confidence in everyday tasks
- Adapt instruction to meet varying ability levels and learning styles
- Provide hands‑on support to individuals with IDD in a respectful and person-centered manner
- Assist clients as needed with mobility, behavior support, and daily routines
- Promote dignity, choice, and independence in all interactions
- Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, attendance, and client progress
- Complete required documentation in accordance with program and regulatory standards
- Communicate client observations and concerns to supervisory staff
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure consistent and high-quality services
- Follow program guidelines, safety procedures, and behavior support plans
- Drive Arc vehicles to transport clients to community activities and outings as needed
- Ensure safe transportation practices and supervision at all times
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant experience in caregiving, education, or human services preferred
