Experteer Overview As Assembly & Integration Cell Lead, you steer daily manufacturing, assembly and test activities to deliver Zephyr aircraft. You collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to meet milestones, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement. You'll guide a specialist AIT team to execute hands-on integration, wiring, and verification tasks on UAV platforms. The role sits at the core of turning aerospace concepts into reliable, traceable aircraft.

  • Lead daily manufacturing and integration activities aligned to the production plan

    Coordinate day-of-build activities to meet safety, quality and delivery targets

    Monitor progress and proactively manage schedule, quality, technical and resource risks

    Drive workflow prioritisation within the production cell

    Support production recovery plans and minimise delivery disruptions

    Ensure effective shift handovers and communication of build status

    Perform and support aircraft assembly, integration, installation, wiring and testing

    Install and integrate avionics and mechanical systems on UAV platforms

    Manufacture and assemble in-house avionics components where required

    Maintain accurate build records and ensure full product traceability

    Provide daily supervision and technical leadership to AIT Technicians

    Coach, mentor and develop team members; support onboarding and training

    Champion right-first-time, zero-defect culture and ensure compliance with AS9100, HF, FOD, Tool Control, COSHH, ESD controls

    Tasks Hands-on aerospace manufacturing / aircraft assembly / integration / test experience

    Experience leading small technical teams

    Strong knowledge of aircraft assembly, avionics installation, integration and testing

    Ability to interpret engineering drawings and documentation

    Experience with installation verification and system integration testing

    Competence with standard test equipment, crimp tooling and calibrated measurement devices

    High-quality soldering capability

    ESD-controlled manufacturing environment knowledge

    Fault finding and troubleshooting skills

    Accurate production and build record keeping

    Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced production environment

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IT
