An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced SCPHN school nurses to join the Bromley 0-19 service. We are looking for dynamic, confident and compassionate nurses to join the well-established team within the Bromley borough. The service is approaching a period of exciting change and innovation, and the post holder would have the opportunity to help influence and transform the service offer available to children, young people and their families.
The post-holder will be the named School Nurse for schools within the area. This role will incorporate a supervisory role for staff nurses working within the school nursing service.
The post holder will work as a member of the School Nursing Service and will work with schools, families, and the wider community to improve the health of school-aged children identifying the more vulnerable, and developing clear referral pathways so that all children and young people can reach their full potential.
This will be achieved by delivering the requirements from the service specification. They will work closely with the identified leader in each school providing expert information, guidance, and assessments as required.
As a highly motivated and dynamic school nurse, you will play a leading role in shaping our services as we are committed to meeting the health needs of children and young people through the delivery of the 5-19 Healthy Child Programme.
The school nurse will deliver high-quality evidence-based skilled nursing care within the schools of Bromley. You will be responsible for a defined caseload of secondary schools, and supporting junior staff with the management of primary schools. Applicants must hold a Specialist Community Public Health Qualification in School Nursing, and have post-graduate experience of working within a School Nursing team.
Adheres to the NMC Code and maintains own professional requirements in line with revalidation procedure.
Participates actively in continuing education programs and accepts responsibility for professional and self-development.

Salary is dependent on NHS experience and current banding/pay point.
